Villa Vager cherishes a precious past which is clearly one of those that should not be kept a secret. On the contrary, its history is worthy of sharing and, above all, worthy of propagating. This is how the owners, Marina and Nikolas Vager felt and abandoned their life in the city in order to devote all their passion to the grand mansion in the village of Levidi in Arkadia. Their vision was to create a mansion house where their friends – guests would come to have a memorable stay.
Indeed, they fulfilled their dream. Built in 1843 upon the highest hill of the village, the impressive stone mansion has been proudly standing there, ever since, watching the seasons go by. The old mansion house cherishes a precious history, therefore Marina and Nikolas restored it with immense care and with respect to the the building’s architecture. With wood and stone being the dominant materials of the building, only the best of craftsmen were summoned to undertake the project by using the tried and tested techniques and methods.
The privileged positioning of the mansion up on the highest hill of Levidi village, offers a panorama of the dense pine forest from one side and that of the colorful valley from its other side. Particular attention to detail is manifested not only within each of the 10 superb rooms but also within the communal spaces of Villa Vager. The ceilings are decorated with chestnut beams from Mount Athos and within the premises, we see rare decorative objects and antique furnishings carefully selected by the owners from their travels in various parts of Greece and abroad. In addition, an invaluable selection of family ornaments are used for decorative purposes, while the linen, fabrics and mattresses in the 8 rooms and the 2 suites are of distinguished quality and style.
All of the 10 rooms are different from each other, but they all present underfloor heating and specimens of advanced technology, such as smart TV sets and wireless internet.
The 4-star Villa Vager offers its guests a variety of facilities, like the spacious communal lounges with a fireplace and comfortable sofas, the special tables for cardboard games and the thick handmade Persian carpets which cover all of the floors adding that extra touch of finesse and warmness. The large Viennese armchair dates back to 1840 and is an ideal, cozy and quiet spot where one can literally immerse in reading their book, while the old lamps, the large pendulum and the artistic paintings on the walls all contribute to the creation of a setting from a different epoch.
Nikolas and Marina treat their guests in the most splendid and friendly manner and place them at the epicenter of their personal care and attention. Breakfast is served until late in the morning and includes delicious, handmade, traditional delicacies. In addition, the hotel offers 4x4 quad bikes which are at the guest's disposal, for exciting rides in the mountains of the county of Arkadia.
