The imposing rocks of Meteora in the county of Trikala. Nature helped in their phenomenal formation and eremites found their refuge here. This is where the second largest complex of Monasteries is located, all of which constituting monuments of international heritage of UNESCO. By all means, climb or ascend up to the monasteries and admire the breathtaking views of the town of Kalabaka and Trikala from high above.

The village of Metaxohori which you will come across driving towards the area of Ayia. It is an exquisite specimen of a traditional and picturesque settlement. Choose a table at the village square café and taste the best Greek coffee possible.

The Pertouli Ski Resort. It is one of the best organized in the country and its slopes amidst the dense fir forest will absolutely bewilder you.

The village complex of Aspropotamos. Although they are quite far away from the town of Trikala, they do belong to the country and they are totally worthy of your visit for their magnificent landscapes and their delicious local gastronomy.
