Ample light is shed upon Ancient Corinth
The Temple o Apollo, in the settlement of ancient Corinth, constitutes one of the most important monuments in the Peloponnese.
Truth is that the monument remained in the dark for many many years. Nevertheless, the Temple will acquire the glory that it deserves through its illumination, as of Saturday the 26th of January.
It is the initiative of the Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities in collaboration with the Architectural Lighting company “Diathlassis”, which will shed ample light upon theTemple. At the same time, all necessary precautions have been taken into account for saving energy, as well as the fact that the temple will be illuminated in an easily reversed way in case of future restoration.
Undoubtedly, the whole project has taken particular measures for the avoidance of light pollution, therefore, all is ready for the opening event which will take place this coming Saturday at 7 pm.
