Experience a unique carnival feast in the region of Messinian Mani in the Peloponnese

Today, the 9th of Marchis the last day of the carnival in the region of Mani. The best part of the seasonal events is kept for the final day, which will be completed with the “Sea Carnival” that takes place by the pier with numerous boats giving their own colorful note to the feast. Tonight is also the night that the imitation of the "King of the Carnival" will be burnt in the sea to mark the end of the carnival season.

The seasonal events of the area are organized by the Municipality of East Mani and other local associations and they reach their peak on Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th of March. The big carnival parade begins today at 16:30 from the square where the Town Hall is and finishes at the central square. This is where everybody will gather for the large feast in the sounds of traditional music and plenty of dancing and drinking.
