Beach of Mandraki : The only sandy beach in Hydra island which you will find on the left of the main town. Accessibility is easy either on foot or by sea taxi, while the beach is well organized and offers a choice of water sports.
Beach of Spilia : You will access it simply by walking 5 minutes leftwards from the port and by descending a few steps. Rocky beach which has cement platforms where you can lay your beach towel and enjoy a sunbathing session. Diving is possible by iron ladders and the waters are quite deep. The beach offers a selection of bars and restaurants at the disposal of the visitor.
Beach of Hydroneta: A few meters from thebeach ofSpilia, we come across that of Hydronet, which offers a bar-restaurant with parasols and soft music. By descending 20 steps you arrive at a cement platform where you can lay your beach towel and enjoy a sunbathing session, while diving is possible via iron ladders that lead to deep waters. This particular beach is considered one of the best spots on the island for enjoying a sunset.
Beach of Avlaki: The road passes over the beaches of Spilia and Hydroneta and continues a bit further in order to reach that of Avlaki. Just by walking 5 minutes from the main road you arrive at this pebbly beach by descending a few steps. The small bay has cement platforms where you can lay your beach towel.
Beaches of Megalo and Mikro Kamini: Returning to the main road and simply by walking for a further 5 minutes, we arrive at Kamini. To dive to its waters we walk a distance of 300 meters which will take us to Megalo Kamini, a pebbly beach with a stone-built castle called Kastello. The beach spreads freely and has sun-beds and parasols. Its relatively shallow shores make it ideal for children. The same applies to the smaller beach - Mikro Kamini - which spreads next to that of Megalo Kamini.
Beach of Vlichos : Behind Castello, we continue walking for a further 15 minutes in order to reach the red-pebble beach of Vlichos. The beach is organized with sun-beds and parasols and offers a variety of restaurants and tavernas, as well as the picturesque chapel of Aghios Haralambos.
Beach of Plakes Vlichou: Leaving the small beach port of Vlichos, a further 15 minute walk will bring us to the seaside settlement of Plakes Vlichou. There, you will be rewarded with an organized beach with sun-beds and parasols.
Beach of Palamidas : South of Vlichos, we come across a secluded beach which is not easily accessible. One will have to walk for 20 minutes on a dirt path and cross over a stone-built bridge dating back to the 17th century. Totally worthy of your effort to approach it, for its numerous chapels and to see the single remaining traditional shipyard on the island.
Beach of Molos : After the beach of Palamidas, we reach the crystal clear waters of Molos beach only via small boat. The beach is considered the most tranquil on the island and will absolutely relax the visitor. Untouched by the mass waves of tourism, it promises a virgin, natural scenery to whoever is able to approach it.
Beach of Kaoumithi : Kaoumithi beach is not organized but it offers thick, soft sand shores and is surrounded by pine trees. It is accessible on small boat or on foot by walking for approximately 1 hour southwards.
Beach of Bisti : Yet another well organized beach on the island of Hydra situated on the southwestern side. Its rocky scenery and the plethora of pine trees complement beautifully the blue of the sea. Boats will take you there from the port of Hydra or, indeed, you can access it in the privacy of a sea-taxi.
Beach of Aghios Georgios : Situated in the western side of the island between two hills with pines and very close to cape Bisti, the beach of Aghios Georgios is only accessible by sea and is not organized but its beautiful chapel will enchant you.
Beach of Aghios Nikolaos : This beach is located at the south-west shores of the island and is also only accessible on speed boat or sea-taxi from the port of Hydra. It is well organized and offers a superb, pebbly scenery surrounded by the greenest pine forest.
Beach of Nisiza : On the eastern part of the island we come across this tranquil, secluded and non-organized beach at the bay below mountain Eros or Klimaki. The area has a dense forest of pine trees. The way to access it is by private boat.
Beach of Klimaki : This is a large, pebbly beach on the eastern part of the island and at the foot of mount Klimaki where we also find a settlement of private summer residencies. The beach is not organized and you can access it on boat or by riding a donkey.
Beach of Limnioniza : For many…this is the most beautiful beach of the island and totally worthy of your visit while on the island of Hydra! It is a pebbly beach with crystal clear waters situated on the northeastern part of the island, close to cape Rigas and “Spilia tis Fokias” which means seal’s cave. Catch a sea-taxi from the port and take with you plenty of water and a parasol.
