Mesmerizing beaches on the island of Astypalaia

The beautiful butterfly-shaped island of Αstypalaia is gaining points by the year as a unique tourist destination. Nonetheless, it reserves its authenticity and a low-profile that distinguishes it from the other islands of the Aegean Sea. Its beauty is emitted from within and it is based on those little details that truly enchant us: its white-washed picturesque houses, its well-hidden beaches, the smiling faces of its inhabitants. A unique island that is truly characterized by the beaches it offers to its visitors, magnetizes us and ensures our return.

Beach of Livadi

Organized beach with a plethora of choices, crystal-clear waters, water sport facilities and only 3 Km from the main town, Chora. You can also eat at the traditional tavernas of the area or even enjoy your drink after dark.

Beach of Κounoupas

This is one of the small islets south of Αstypalaia cherishing superb beaches. You can access it via small boats departing daily from the port of Pera Yialos.

Beach of Vatses

It is located at the southwestern side of Αstypalaia and just a few kilometres further south from Kaminakia. The beach offers a few parasols and sun beds, as well as a small bar. Usually a windy beach.

Beach of Κoutsomitis

One of the two islets south of the island is called Koutsomitis. Magnificent beaches are awaiting for your adoration and you can access them via small boats departing daily from the port of Pera Yialos.

Beach of Κaminakia

Pebbly beach with partial sand and crystal-clear waters located at the southwestern side of the island. As little as 3 parasols and a tiny bar with refreshments will keep you company.

Beach of Papou

Situated at about 5 Km from the area of Anemomili heading towards Vatses and Kaminakia. You will access its wild setting and its marvelous views to the big blue via a small path starting from the main road.

Beach of Pera Yialos

One of the most cosmopolitan beaches of the island and very near to the main town, Chora. It used to be the main port of Αstypalaia before the creation of the new and larger port in Aghios Andreas. The beach is well protected from the winds, it is sandy and has a line of trees along its shore.

Beach of Steno

Just a few kilometers northeast of the main town and located at the strip of land that separates the island to its east and its west side. This is a mesmerizing sandy beach with clear waters and shallow waters.

Beach of Τzanakia

Very close to the beach of Livadi, we come across a series of small, pebbly beaches with clear blue waters spreading among rocks. Access them by descending a steep path.

Beach of Plakes

The beach of Plakes constitutes a complex of rocks and not a beach and it is a setting of wild nature, ideal for those seeking solitude. Tricky to access but absolutely worth the effort.

Beach of Μaltezana

Around 7 Km. east of Chora and presenting visitors with trees, shallow waters, parasols, sun beds and numerous small tavernas for fresh fish.

Whichever you choose to explore first, you will be rewarded with unprecedented beauty. For your accommodation on the island, select to stay at Melograno Villas. Bear in mind that the location of Melograno Villas is very privileged not only due to its close proximity to the enchanting Chora, but also because of its accessibility to the trendy beach of Livadi where you can dive in refreshingly cool turquoise waters. The beaches of Aghios Konstantinos, Kaminakia and Vatses will equally reward you for your choice of accommodation.
