Epidaurus Theater travels to Rhodes island

Our summer this year is absolutely packed with theatrical, musical and cultural events. The island of Rhodes seems to be holding the lead with a unique festival.

In the framework of Rhodes 2013 Live Summer Festival, an amazing spectacle with significant names holding the protagonist roles is going to be held at the Medieval Theatre. Lucky spectators located on the island of the knights will have the opportunity to experience the glory of an ancient Greek theatrical play for two nights on the 19th and 20th of August.

The famous Greek tragedy of "Medea" by Euripides depicts a case of love turning into terrible hatred. The play was first presented in 431 BC and addresses the last act of the passionate relationship between Jason and Medea, where Jason abandons his wife for the eyes of another woman and Medea takes revenge in the cruelest way by murdering their children. Directed by Spiros Evagelatos and produced by Vasilakou Theater.

Starring significant Greek actors, such as: George Kimoulis, Odisseas Papaspiliopoulos, Tasos Noussias, Manos Vakoussis, Nikolas Papayanis, Nikos Anastasopoulos, Dimitris Papanikolaou and other supportive top performers, such as: Tasos Alatzas Nikos Anastasopoulos, Konstantinos Giannakopoulos, Haris Grigoropoulos, Dimitris Karaviotis, Stavros Karayianis, Dimitris Karabetsis, Dimitris Moschos, Dimitris Milonas, Pandelis Flatsoussis, Gerasimos Skafidas.

Another spectacle also worthy to attend, is that of musical play "FAME" which we enjoyed in Athens during the winter months and which met great success and very good critics due to the vital energy of the well selected cast. Music and dance are inextricably bound here, thus yielding a magical and uplifting result. Also hosted at the Medieval Theater on the 17th and 18th of August, a beautiful theater in the old town of Rhodes overlooking the imposing town walls. Starring Greek actors Aleka Kanelidou, Nikos Vourliotis, Demy, Nadia Boule, Konstantinos Lagos and Orpheas Papadopoulos.

Whichever you choose, we are sincerely certain that you will have a great time!
