The Brits show preference to Greece, once again this year
The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, released a study listing the countries that will play an important role in the tourism market for the year 2014 and Greece is included in the list. The study is titled Travel Trends Report 2014 and it additionally supports an upward trend in the tourism industry for the year 2014 during which travelers will be willing to spend more money in comparison to the previous year, although, strictly bearing in mind the golden rule which is none other than “value for money”.
Another key conclusion that stems from the study, is the clear preference manifested by travelers towards package holidays in which they can combine additional services apart from their accommodation and they can also benefit from the special offers. There is also a general tendency for consumers to choose to visit the same country again but selecting a different destination within the country, thus, showing preference to the familiar elements of a country they have already visited in the past without missing out on the “mystery” of the new and different destination.
Yet another fact presented in the study, is that of the age of travelers which remains the same for 2014 and involves the “baby boomers”, meaning consumers aged between 55 and 64 years old.
Last but not least, the study verifies that the Brits will prefer to travel to destinations close to their country within 2014, plus, to destinations which are tried and tested already: Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Turkey among the most important.
The list “Destinations to Watch” for 2014 includes a variety of destinations around the world, some of which well known, others lesser, some of which next to us and some others distant. One thing is certain. The countries listed below will attract the interest of the travelers...
