Verina Suites Hotel is the new home of famous Vatrahia Restaurant which was previously located at the area of Kastro by Seralia beach. Its new setting at Platys Gialos beach is far more satisfying and the already long list of regulars seem to have appreciated this change of location, especially since nothing affected its standard of services or altered its already dynamic and thriving team!
Vatrahia Restaurant is not just an asset to Verina Suites but constitutes the summer hot spot for dinning out in Sifnos island, with a lean cuisine menu totally devoted to fresh fish and delicious seafood dishes. Tables are set next to the tranquil waters of the hotel’s swimming pool but what really magnetizes your sight is the beautiful beach a few meters away from where you are sitting. The restaurant’s decor is based on traditional white and soft beige palettes but it is the olive trees that bring-out the beauty of this authentic Greek setting.
Just before your dinner and while your table is prepared for you, do try the elaborate cocktail menu to whet your appetite at the comfort of the lounge area of sofas and soft cushions. The lean cuisine of sea food is clearly influenced by recipes from all over the world, which are nonetheless mainly carried out by using the freshest ingredients and local Cycladic products. Floretta Psimadis -the restaurant’s chef and sommelier- will be delighted to guide you through your choices and will make sure you are dined and wined in the best possible way!
The chef Victor Balfoussios promises a culinary voyage to the secrets of the deep seas...Do not omit to try the ceviche which is a spicy fish from Peru, the steaming mussels, the kalamari squid in honey and soya and the potato salad in honey and yasabi. The BBQ corner offers a wide selection of fish that you will personally choose and watch it become a delicious grilled meal! After this seafood galore, who could deny a dessert of pavlova? Chocolate lovers should definitely opt for the bitter chocolate cake with ice-cream, topped with white chocolate mousse, a touch of yogurt, apricot marmalade and pistachio nuts...irresistibly appealing.
