ANDROS

Discover the secrets of noble Andros and enjoy the beauty of the most green island of the Cyclades!

1.

The medieval castle in the Chora of Andros island, as well as the statue of the “Unknown Sailor” at the homonymous square. The castle was built by the Venetian Marino Dandolo in 1207 and it is located on an islet opposite Chora and easily accessible by crossing a stone-built bridge.

The numerous Mansions mostly located in Chora, which are owned by captains, merchants and ship owners and characterised by high aesthetics and unique architectural beauty.

The picturesque port of Batsi, the main harbour of Gavrio and, of course, the beautiful bay of Korthi all of which constitute exploited areas of the island which attract the interest of visitors.

The island’s beaches which will turn your dreams into reality! There are plenty to suit every taste. Those with a cosmopolitan air are Chrissi Ammos (golden sand), Aghios Petros and the famous beach “tis Grias to Pidima”. For a more secluded dive, try any of the less organised beaches of Peza, Achla, Vitali, Zorgo and Vori. For water sports and other activities, head towards Mylos, Batsi, Pyrgos and Vlyhada.

The countless Byzantine churches and monasteries which are spread all over the island and which constantly remind you that you have visited a truly divine and blessed place!

The designated and sign posted paths of the island which are ideal for hiking, but also the numerous picturesque villages at the island’s interior, such as Stenies, Mainites and Nimborio.

The ancient settlement of Paleopolis which is the former capital of the island, located at 6 km from the village of Batsi. What will truly amaze you, are the waterfalls of the area which constitute a unique phenomenon in the Cyclades.
